Happy New Year!

Jay and I had a great New Year's Day together today, exploring Devil's Millhopper State Park in Northwest Gainesville, then San Felusco State Park a little farther west. For Christmas Jay got the World Wildlife Federation's Fieldguide to North American Trees book from his mom, so we used that to identify several types of trees at the parks. The most exciting find was the Chalk Maple, which is pretty rare this far south. Here are some photos from the day.

2009 - I know it's going to be a good year!

Moving on up

Right now I am on my way up to North Carolina to start my job with BB&T! I am really excited and can't believe it is already here. I was hired back in July for the January start date, so it has been really nice to be at home for a bit. Mom and Dad headed up to NC before me on Monday to spend New Years with some friends. I packed up on Tues. and Wed. and headed first to Gainesville to Spend New Years with Jay, and tomorrow I am finishing the journey to Winston Salem. Then Saturday we'll all go to the big Henderson family reunion in Statesville.

All of my things fit neatly into the Tahoe - I put my comforter over everything for the ride up.

And look who was saddest that I was leaving...

Christmas!

Until I get the Christmas photos off of my mom's camera, here is a little sneak peek of Christmas Day... look what Chip found under the tree :)

He looks like a little Ewok.
